25 weeks

After a long day at work and a snow/sleet storm I made it home and took my progression picture. There are a lot of changes going on, it takes me longer to get places now, I can't keep up with the average New Yorker -- which frustrates me because I like to keep up. It's getting harder to bend over and tie my shoes but other then that I feel great and have no complaints. She's moving around a lot lately and is especially active around 10pm when I am trying to go to sleep but I guess she is preparing me for when she does get here.

Here is what Baby Center says is going on with our little girl -- Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. Her hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after she's born.

O Christmas Tree

Sorry for the lack of posts, it gets crazy around this time of the year, last weekend we finally put up our Christmas tree. This year it was Joey's turn to pick the way it was decorated, he likes color lights...I prefer white, but it was his year. We had fun but I forgot how tiring the whole process can be. We are both looking forward to the holidays, this will be the last Christmas with just the two of us and Bailey, of course.

I promise to post a progression picture soon.

Jumpin' Bean

Today I went to 'Splash' for a Mommy massage and it was amazing!! It was so nice to go there and be pampered. Ten minutes into the massage the little bean starts jumping around and doing somersaults, at first I thought it was cute and that she was enjoying the massage as well or could feel it in some way. Then...she started kicking my bladder for 20 minutes straight!

Needless to say, when I was done I had to run to the bathroom.

Marcela's Baby Shower

On Sunday we went out to Long Island for Marcela's baby shower. We clowned around with the camera outside, it was beautiful but quite cold. Marcela got a lot of great gifts and it gave me a great idea for things I need to register for. She looked great being so close to her due date...can't wait to meet her little one when he arrives!!

Thanksgiving in New York

Tara and Regann came up for the long thanksgiving weekend. It was fun to spend time with them and do some shopping. Yes, we actually hit the mall, not on black friday but on Saturday. It wasn't as bad as we thought. Although, from the picture I think Regann would disagree. Taking a baby out is a lot of work, we ate at a restaurant, lost a shoe and then found it and had to change a diaper with no changing table in the restroom. She was an angel but wow, I have a lot to learn.

Thanksgiving in Florida

The cutie pie crackin up!

On Saturday Brianna and Amalia had a soccer game, it was so much fun to watch them play

Everyone collapsed in the living room from all the turkey and stuffing

It was also Zerina, Tami & Tara's birthday

Aren't I cute!!

Mommy you are so silly, those are my cookies

Last weekend I was in Florida visiting my family for an early Thanksgiving. It's rare that we are all in the same place at the same time. While being in the warm weather was nice and relaxing I did get a taste of what it's going to be like having a rug rat around.

Half way there - 20 week pic

I am now at the halfway mark of my pregnancy and could not be happier or feel better. According to Baby Center she weighs about 10 1/2 ounces and is the length of a banana. She is also practicing swallowing.
Oh and last week was the first time I felt her kick and knew it was actually her. It was the neatest feeling!! At the end of the week we go for our anatomical ultrasound. We are very excited to see her up close and make sure her organs are functioning properly.

It's a GIRL!!!

The results are in, the doctor says we are having a "beautiful girl", I guess she sees something we don't. She tried to show us what indicated that she is a girl and neither Joey or I could see it but she said it was clear. I didn't think I was going to be this excited to find out but it was so exciting to be told that I am carrying a little girl.

Joey and I are so excited! We wonder what she will look like, whose personality she will have and whether she will like chocolate or vanilla ice cream. No matter what, we wait in anticipation to meet her.

My Baby's Daddy is the BEST!!

Last night I came home from work to find the entire house completely clean, including laundry!! How awesome is that!! I'm talking living room, dinning room and bedroom dusted and mopped. Joey said he wanted me to rest and have a good time with Lali when she gets here tonight. I am blessed!

My baby's daddy is just the best, don't you think?

16.5 week progression picture

Many of you have been asking me to post a picture of my belly, well here it is. I haven't been able to fill out my maternity clothes yet but I am getting close, I think by week 18 I'll be sporting my new maternity wardrobe.

So far I feel great, have my energy back and have even gone back to the gym the past few weeks. My doctor says everything looks great and even told us what she "thinks" the sex is but we want to be sure so we won't know until our next appointment. I'll be posting progression pictures every few weeks.

Baby Poll Results

It looks like most of you are not sure about leaving comments on the blog since I got a lot of emails and calls from everyone. Here are the results:

Girl: 42
Boy: 29

It looks like most of you think we are going to have a girl. Joey and I don't agree on what we are having either but we will see soon enough. Let's hope we can at least agree upon a name. Stay tuned...

Baby Poll: Boy or Girl?

We are doing a baby poll to see if you think we are having a boy or a girl. Since Joey can't wait and wants to know the gender we are going to find out next week and post it here. Leave your comments at the bottom or email me with your guess. If the "little bean" cooperates we will know what we are having but will be thrilled with whatever the Lord gives us. All the quizzes that you guys have sent me said I am more likely to have a girl, so we'll see. Don't forget to leave your comments!!

Surprise visit to NYC

I always love it when friends come to the city to visit. On Friday I found out that Lali was coming up for the weekend so we got to hang out with her on Saturday. She got to see how much the bean (our official name for the baby) has made my belly grow, not that much, but bigger since the last time she saw me in July. We had fun hanging out in the city on the UWS, Rockefeller Center and H&M. We look forward to her next visit real soon.

12-week photo

A little late but I am finally posting the sonogram from my second appointment. Everything seems to be going fine. Joey and I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time, that was incredible. I am feeling good, starting to grow out of my regular clothes, guess I need to start looking for some maternity clothes next week.

Aloha!

We took one of our last long vacations before Baby Rodriguez enters our lives. We went to Maui for 8 days and it was the best vacation yet. Maui is absolutely beautiful and blew away our expectations. We went on a sunset sail, the highlight of our trip, hiking to the twin falls and relaxed. Joey had his first Snuba lesson and I laid out and got the best tan of my life! The sunsets were unbelievable!! We will definitely be back...maybe when our tike is about 2 years old, the flight is very long but so worth it. Ahhh, Maui I miss you already.

William's first birthday

On Saturday we went to the Bronx to celebrate our nephew William's first birthday. There were so many little boys there, I come from a family of mostly girls so it was so cute to have all these little boys running around, they are a lot rougher then girls. William holds a special place in Grandpa's heart, they were inseperable all day.

Regann's first birthday

I couldn't resist posting these pictures from our recent trip to Floirda for our niece's first birthday. It was so great to see family and friends. It's rare that we are all in the same place at the same time. Aren't my nieces and nephew adorable!!

Baby's first photo

On Tuesday we went to the Dr.'s and got to see our baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was so cool, there is really a little person forming in there. It's a little grainy but can you spot baby Rodriguez??

Yep, we're pregnant!!

We are very excited to share this news with our friends and family. Bailey is also excited to be a big brother and is looking forward to all the diaper changes.
