Snowy Days and Wintery Nights

As many of you know, the New York area has been getting hit hard with inches of snow and below freezing temps. In this weather its hard to go anywhere with kids in tow -- so many days we organize playdates around the nabe or find fun things to do at home. Ava has become quite the pinch hitter these days, she is great as swiffering the floors, rinsing the dishes and my favorite, feeding her little brother. It becomes quite the mess to clean up but they both enjoy it so much so how could I resist. She gets so serious about feeding him and he laughs at her the entire time.

Ava loves her babies, why is it that all children's babydolls are naked?  Since we recently stopped Ava's naps she gets to have quiet time with her dolls, toys or a book - so far, so good.

Wrestling with Bailey is always fun, he usually wins when he nips her hand and she spanks him for biting her.  They absolutely love each other.

Our little guy got tuckered out from all the jumping, he always falls asleep in the doorway jumper.

A visit from Mimi is always fun.

Blizzard 2010

So just when you think you are so busy and have no time to get things done...a blizzard blows into town and stops you dead in your tracks and suddenly you have all the time in the world to get things done but somehow you never get around to doing what you need to get done.  Case in point, Blizzard 2010.

Have the week between Christmas and New Years off is such a luxury, Joey and I had all these plans to shop, organize, spend time together sans kids and just relax but that all came to a screeching hault when the blizzard hit.  We were literally trapped in our house for 3 days.  The snow started to fall on Sunday afternoon and continued into Monday and by the time it was all said and done it was somewhere near 18 inches!!  I have never seen this much snow in my life, it was incredible.  My girlfriend and I took the kids out for some sledding, here are some pictures I took with my new camera that Joey got me for Christmas.  Check out the guy skiing down our street!!!

Christmas 2010

December was by-far the busiest month, not only did I not post to the blog but I barely had time to breath.  We had one party after the next and many late nights which threw the kids schedule off, the presents got wrapped on the 24th with the help of my sister and Christmas dinner was catered because I had no time to grocery shop or cook.  My biggest lesson learned from 2010...better planning.
