When Ava was just a wee one she would take her burp clothes and put them over her eyes when she would sleep. Now she loves to have them wherever she goes, she snuggles with them, puts them over her head when she walks around or will bite on one, she always has one nearby. This was the result one afternoon while playing at Lela's house.
Girlfriend time is Ava's favorite time at Lela's, a few days a week her friend, Michi comes over for the day to play and Ava loves spending time with her. There is lots of playing, singing, laughing, hugging and showing off. When Joey or I mention that Michi is going to be at Lela's Ava's gets so excited and looks like she is going to hyperventilate. She gets just as excited as Mommy does when she has girlfriend time.

Noise Maker
Generally we are a pretty loud family meaning we are loud talkers -- we live in a noisy city you have to talk above the noise, but recently Ava has taken it to a whole new level. She got this block as a gift for her birthday and she wants to bang inanimate objects on it all day long. It is the loudest thing and drives me, Joey and Bailey crazy. We hide it, she finds it. It's never ending and she doesn't forget about it.
Avita is talking a lot lately some of her favorite things to say are:
"What's that?"
"Baaaby" for Bailey
"Ut-ohhh" - especially when the phone rings
"Agua" for water
"Dadda"
"Numm, numm" for food
"Ohh no"
"Dora"
She understands more then she speaks as most toddlers do and knows more Spanish then English.

Summer Babies Get Together

While Ava was not born in the Summer she was made an honorary member of the Jackson Heights Summer Babies Group. Since she made friends with so many of them from music class this past Spring. She was one of the oldest kids there which also means more aggressive. We are teaching her a lot about sharing these days as she likes to take other kids toys. It was so nice to hang out with some current friends and make some new ones. I'm amazed at the amazing community JH has, I have never experienced it much outside of the church. It's so nice to walk down the street, see people you know and stop and talk to them. It's not something my UES and LES friends ever get to experience. I love being a part of a community and to think I found it in New York City, huh, who would have thought??
