What a difference two months make!!

Ava is now 2 months old and as we were looking through some of the pictures we took when we brought her home, we were amazed at the difference. She has grown so much and is developing a little personality. She loves to talk, especially when Daddy comes home. It's like she wants to tell him all about her day, the friends she played with and all the cute clothes Mommy has dressed her up in. She is a real girly girl.

Yep, she has dimples! Blue eyes and dimples - who's child is this?!?!

Oh no...this is no bath rode, this is Ava's boxing robe. She's a fighter just like her Daddy.

Lunch in Midtown with Dawn

This morning Ava and I hopped on the subway and went to meet my friend Dawn for lunch in the city, who came over from Philly. It was a beautiful crisp spring day, we walked around midtown a little then went to grab a bite. I've known Dawn since I was in high school and it is just so great to see old friends. Dawn in seven months pregnant with her second child and this time it's a boy!

Visit from Abuelo

On Saturday we went and picked up Joey's dad in the Bronx. He came over and played with Ava, who was so excited to meet her Abuelo. They watched the Yankee's game together and played with Bailey.

Later on, Daddy put Ava down for a nap -- she loves to be swaddled and sleeps up to 9 hours at night since we have been doing it. She's 8 weeks and sleeps nine hours!! I am blessed! She is so adorable when she's swaddled with her cap on, all you see is this little face and big blue eyes - so cute!

Ava's crazy puppy dog

Our dog Bailey is a great dog and really good with Ava. When she cries he is the first to run in the room and see what all the commotion's about. He loves licking her feet and sitting next to her when she's in her swing. Although, since Ava has been around he has picked up a few quirks. For instance, when our heat comes on he will climb in the window and lay on the radiator (for you Floridians - that white thing is the radiator) Not only will he lay on it but he needs to stick his nose out to watch what is going on. I think he thinks he might miss out on something, perhaps a scooby snack.

Mother's Day

After church this Sunday Joey, Ava and I headed to brunch with Mike and Julie and Mike's parents, who were visiting from Seattle, WA. We went to a great Moroccan restaurant to eat and celebrate Mother's Day. We always love hanging out with Mike and Julie so it was extra special to spend my first Mother's Day with them.

Tuesday's with Mommy

For the last few weeks every Tuesday Ava and I meet up with other babies and mommies in Jackson Heights. It is such a great time, it's mostly for the Mom's of course, I have met so many great women in the nabe and every time we walk down the street now we bump into someone we know. JH was not always like this, I actually wanted to move about a year and half ago because I really didn't know anyone with kids in the area. Most of our friends live in Brooklyn or Manhattan. But in the past year there has been a baby boom in our area and I just love it, stroller mom's are everywhere.

There are about 15 women who get together at the park, Starbuck's or at someones apartment if the weather is bad. We get together and swap baby stories and I have come to realize that I'm not crazy!! Although at times, Joey would beg to differ. When we come home Ava usually passes out because she is always so chatty.

I Want To Be A Historymaker

Date Night in the Big Apple

Ava on her way to the sitters

Foggy, rainy night in Union Square

On Saturday evening Joey arranged a baby sitter and we headed into the city. It was rainy out but it didn't matter it was our first time out alone since Ava was born. We headed to Union Square where we walked around, grabbed dinner, headed to a cozy coffee bar and just hung out and talked. It was so nice to get out and I feel like I hadn't been on the subway in eons. I really love this city and can't imagine raising our daughter anywhere else. It has so much life and such amazing people. Where else can you buy fresh arugula, bison, zucchini bread and homemade blueberry pies on the street while sipping hot apple cider all while watching a monkey ride a unicycle. Only in New York people...only in New York.

Playdate in Jackson Heights

Today Ava was just hangin' out around the house, sometimes she likes to wear clothes and sometimes she likes just being in her pampers. Then there was a knock at the door and her friend Jonathan came over to play and the modest girl that she is, she decided to get dressed to play. They had fun hangin out with one another. Jonathan was showing her the ropes since he's the big boy now and showed her how to use her legs. They laid around laughing and kicking. Ahhhh, remember when life was that simple.
