Bright primary colors, silly songs, padded rooms and bubbles, this is Gymboree. While Ava enjoys the music and songs she is not so keen on the slides and tunnels. It's a nice place to go when the temperature outside isn't so desirable. After class we window shopped and grabbed a bite at a Nola Restaurant we've been hearing about, nothing like some yummy Cajun food on a frigid day. Avita played peek-a-boo with the wait staff and ate most of Daddy's seafood pasta, she is great in restaurants, thankfully -- otherwise we would eat in all the time. She fell fast asleep in the car on the ride home, that's my girl.

Fun at Lela's
Ava loves going to Lela's house when Mommy and Daddy have to go to work. We are so blessed to have Lela watch Ava. A few days a week she has other little ones to watch and they all get to play with one another. Ava loves her new found friends and actually cries when they go home at the end of the day. She enjoys being around other children and I am glad she has some playmates during the day. Here are some pictures Lela sent me from last week. Already standing on her own, she just needs to get the feet moving. I love the picture where they are all looking at the camera as if to say...another one!

Fun in the Park
This weekend we had some great weather which is such a nice change from the 20 degree weather we've been experiencing for weeks. We decided to take Avita to the park after stopping for lattes at our neighborhood coffee spot - I love NYC!! She loves watching other children run around and play and screams at them as she watches, you can tell she is ready to get down there and run around with them...if only her legs would cooperate. Since the entire neighborhood was outside we waited for the swing and once she got in she absolutely loved it. Here are some pictures of her first swing experience, I'm sure there will be many more this summer.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!
Last weekend we headed to Long Island for the day. The plan was to take Joey to The Cheesecake Factory for a birthday dinner after a day of shopping. Well, I am learning that things don't always work out "as planned" with an infant. We headed to the mall as it was bitterly cold outside and used all of the gift cards we received for Christmas - thank you everyone!! We thought we would have an early dinner since Ava falls asleep around 7:30pm and we didn't want to be out too late. Well, everyone on Long Island had the same idea. We got to the restaurant at 5:30pm and there was already a 90 minute wait, WHAT!! It's 5:30pm people, who eats that early under the age of 50?? Apparently, people in Long Island. I was so upset, Ava was hungry, it was cold outside - there was no way we could have waited that long with an infant in my arms, ugh!! Then, across the street, like a light at the end of the tunnel was a Panera Bread, ahhhh. While it's no Cheesecake Factory it was a warm place where we could sit and eat. Joey didn't care as much as I did, he rolls with the punches MUCH better then I do. Ava Grey could have cared less where we went as long as she got to eat, sing to everyone in the restaurant and read her book.

Super Bowl Sunday
Titi was in town this weekend and stopped by for some grub and to watch the Super Bowl. Avita has become shy with people she doesn't know well and will put her head on my shoulder for about a minute then she usually warms up quite fast. After a quick nap Ava woke up and was ready to play. Tara sang songs and played with her, she is a natural all the way. After Ava went to sleep we watched the Steelers win...much more mellow then how I spent Super Bowls in the past but I wouldn't change it for the world.
