Ava's Birthday Adventure in the City
Saturday was Ava's day in the city with Mom and Dad. First stop, Build a Bear Workshop - the choices there are averwhelming for a four year old, so Daddy chose a few and from thos she picked a light brown bear that she named Suzy. Next stop, Bubba Gumps for lunch. We treked over to Times Square where we noshed on plenty of unhealthy foods. Ava watchd Elmo, Cookie Monster and assorted Disney charactures from the second story window. Last stop, Dylan's Candy Bar - I think this was Daddy's favorite. Ava loved riding the trains and being a big girl with us in the big city. We walked a lot and come 4pm when we headed back home she was exhausted and so were we!

Ava turns 4!!
Last Thursday Ava turned four. I made monkey cupcakes for her class and brought them in after nap time. I think they were a hit. The festivities carried on that evening at Lela's house when we went to pick up Aiden. I love birthdays and making my kids feel special, they are such a gift to us. Unlike our youngest, Ava loves attention. Here are a few snapshots from the day. The celebration continued over the weekend, more pictures to come.

Jibaro Boricua
Jibaro Boricua is a Puerto Rican land dweller, in otherwords, someone who lives simply, works the fields and lives in a rural area of the island. These people wear, pavas (hats) similar to Aidens, hence the title.
Joey couldn't resist buying Aiden this cute hat this past weekend while shopping as a family (which is not for the faint hearted) in our nabe. Despite our daughters very public meltdown which made me want to crawl into a human sized hole we semi-enjoyed ourselves. But these outings will be far and few between as a family. Schlepping kids here and there is heard enough but throw in a tantrum and it becomes a downward spiral. Geez, why couldn't my kids have gotten my "perfect child" genes?? I'm certain I never threw public fits when I was their age. *sigh*

I don't know how our sitter gets him to sit still. He will NOT do this for me.
He is such a ham around the camera, love him!

Turning Two Continued - Party at Lela's
Friday night Lela and Lelo got a cake for Aiden's birthday. I picked Ava up from school and we headed over. Aiden was running around the house with his Woddy and Buzz balloon along side his buddy Jordan.
And the potty training begins. Thank God for Lela!!!!
Girls having fun.
Not to worry, the boys will put an end to that.

Aiden turns TWO!!
On Friday our son turned two. I can't believe our baby is two years old. *sniff* The more I look at him and watch him the more I see him going from baby to little boy. He is all boy too, loves balls, trucks, running, hitting and screaming. We are constantly running after him telling him no or to stop whatever he is doing, he definitely tries us. He is talking up a storm, some of his favorite words are Woody, No, puppy and Dada. He loves his Daddy, always wants to be by him and cries when he leaves. This weekend we celebrated Aiden and did lots of fun stuff outside because it was gorgeous. More pics to follow.
