It's a Wrap 2012!

I must say, I am happy to be entering a new year in more then a few hours.  2012 was not a nice year to many we love and the world in general.  I welcome a new year and a new beginning.  I would like to say that I will be a better blogger in the coming year but who am I kidding!!  Here are some photos from the last month or so. Happy and Healthy New Year to all our friends and family!!

We planted tulips in our garden with the neighborhood kids.  Aiden sees his first earthworm...almost killed the poor thing!

Our little Artist

Ava's teacher sent me these pictures of our little artist at work. She comes home with so much "stuff" from school that it is sometimes overwelming. I don't know what to do with all of it. She loves arts and craft time.  We are celebrating the Advent this year with a daily craft from 'Truth in the Tinsel' - it has been such a fun messy time with the kids.  They are learning about the true meaning of Christmas.

This and that

I'm so far behind in blogging that I don't know where to begin. I came across some old pictures of Ava;s preschool graduation and our first days at the beach club, I already miss that place so much looking at these pictures and boy, my babies have grown since May. Our life does not seem to be slowing down, instead it's more busy then ever. Ava went to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, we hosted Thanksgiving dinner and got stir crazy at home so we headed to the NY Hall of Science where we are members. Boy, these four days at home with both kids have taught me to PLAN! Plan something, anything but get out of the house or you will go crazy!!

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Our little guy loves all things transportation.  If it moves, it grabs his attention.  When we're driving and the el-train goes by us he yells, "Mommy train!"  "Choo-choo" and the train has an American flag on it so he has to point out the flag as well, he loves his flags.  Have I mentioned that we never leave home without some sort of American flag, it all started this summer at the beach club, it was cute at first but now it's starting to drive us nuts, especially when we're in a hurry and we have to hunt down his flag.  At the beach club we were also in the JFK flight path so we would see planes all day long, he would wait in anticipation for the next one to go by and never got tired of it.

Every time we get to a destination he always asks to sit behind the wheel and most of the time the answer is no because we are usually in a hurry -- but we were visiting friends in Long Island a few weeks ago and before we went to leave he asked again so we obliged.  Seriously, it's the only time he will sit still.

Orchard Outing 2012

The first weekend in October we headed Upstate New York for our annual apple picking adventures.  It was a cool crisp day which was perfect for picking, drinking warm apple cider and eating apple cider donuts.  Enjoy the pictures.

Family Picture Autumn 2012 - these are so rare there is always one of us missing.

Ava and Daddy searching for the perfect pumpkin.

Look how big that pumpkin is!!

His muscles are not as big as Daddy's yet.

I think Ava ate more then she picked.

We know who did most of the picking.

Apple picking is hard work.

The sky looked really cool that day, the picture doesn't do it justice but you get an idea.

Chillin at the casa

So a couple of weekends ago Daddy took Ava to the City and I stayed home with Aiden.  I had shopping to do in Jackson Heights so I had Aiden in tow.  Our little guy has become obsessed with pushing things and every opportunity he gets outside his stroller in public he wants to push it, by push I mean PLOW into things and most often people.  So, I decided he needed a pint sized stroller and when he saw it his big blues eyes lit up.  Hubs was not happy that I bought our boy a stroller but I told him I'm teaching him to be a good father one day.  Just look at the smile on his face, check out his shirt. *smile*  Needless to say within the first 5 minutes he had broken it.  Ahhhhh, boys.

Want to entertain your kids for at least 20 minutes at home, buy the dog shaped balloons and watch them destroy them and everything else around the house.

Queens County Fair 2012

This was our second time hitting the Queens County Fair in Floral Park.  We had a great time feeding the animals, watching the dancers and jazz musicians and all fun sideshows that come with a carnival.  We had funnel cakes, cotton candy and kettle corn, makes for a great day and a tunny ache!

Feeding the goats beets.

Non-GMO corn is YUM!!

Silly goose.

Heading to the rides.

This swing was a BIG mistake, I got sick and Ava freaked out, poor thing.

Dancing away to the live music.

Cranky pants woke up just in time for the music.

This weekend we are going apple picking, stay tuned for our annual Fall Foliage Trip Upstate.
