Superkickers!

This weekend Ava received a metal from Superkickers. On Saturdays, I take Ava to play soccer with other kids her age. While they don't exactly 'play' the game they are learning to take direction and listen to instructions. The first day I took her I was so frustrated because she thought I signed her up for volleyball and proceeded to throw the ball the whole time. By the third session it got a little better and she got it. Her favorite time is in the end when they pass out stickers.

Meanwhile, our 3 and 1/2 month old is holding his own bottle, it only lasts a minute but he really holds it and drinks. Ava didn't do that until she was at least 5 months. And they say boys develop slower then girls, hmph.

Chelsea Piers for the day

Last weekend we went to Chelsea Piers, it was a hot one, we passed a water park that Ava wanted to go to and I felt horrible because we didn't have her bathing suit, she LOVES water. We will be going back there this summer with bathing suited toddler in toe. Ava rode the carousel, snatched up a balloon, had ice cream and caught a fit all in about an hour.

Ava did not want to get in the picture

Twinkle Toes

The other morning Ava got up and wanted to wear her Tutu to Lela's house. After I gave in, she was happy as a clam and proceeded to twirl around the house saying 'que linda.' My two year old has an opinion of what she wants to wear, I didn't think that started until three years of age??

Three months old - visit to Carlyle

Last week Aiden headed to Midtown with Mommy. First stop, Le Pain Quotidien for lunch with Kristie. Aiden was such a good boy while we sat there and caught up since we haven't seen each other since before Aiden was born. Then, we headed to Carlyle to see the girls in the office. Aiden loved the attention. I used to hear parents of little boys say, "oh, you are such a flirt" when the baby was around women and used to think the baby is not flirting, come on!! But now that I have a little boy, I get it!! There is something (call it flirting) that goes on with little boys when women are around. We had a great time seeing everyone. I realized I really missed being in the city but I'm sure that will fade once I'm back in the swing of things. *sigh*

Memorial Weekend

We kicked this past weekend off with a date "day" in the Village. Joey and I hit our favorite Italian coffee shop, Veniero's and overdosed on caffeine and sugar. Then we headed to the park, anytime you visit an NYC park you are guaranteed a show. For dinner we headed to 7A and noshed til our hearts content. We love staying in the city for the long weekend as it completely empties out, no traffic + plenty of parking + open outside seating = Happy Joey and Niki.

On Memorial Day we headed to our Pastors house on Staten Island. Great food + great friends + occupied kids = Extremely happy Joey and Niki. Aiden got passed around and loved all the attention while Ava went right for the kiddie pool.
