A Team's Birthday Extravaganza

The title is a bit exaggerated, both Ava and Aiden had their combined birthday party last weekend.  Our basement was the perfect space to let the kiddos run wild.  We had to get a little creative with the space, it's large and raw so it left a lot to be desired.  We hired a clown to come and entertain so the parents could get in some socializing.  Everyone had their face painted, got balloon animals and the clown preformed a few tricks.  It was money well spent, at the end of the evening Ava kept telling me how much she loved her party and that is worth it to me.  So now I have a 3-year old and a 1-year old, time moves at warp speed when you have kids.

Ray of Sunshine

Our first born not only keeps us on our toes but she daily has us rolling with her sense of humor.  This was her outfit this morning.  Granted, she usually goes over to Lela's in PJ's but today she wanted her funky glasses for the trek over.  She loves wearing her rainboots year-round, retro backpack (not pictured) and usually has an animal of some sort in tow.  Daddy has a hard time letting her leave the house looking a hot mess but right now I don't seem to mind since I know she will soon grow out of it.  Ahhhh, I love my girl.

So, once again I'm a little behind on my postings.  Last Wednesday was Aiden's first birthday and we had a little celebration at home with Crumb's cupcakes!!  We had to sing Happy Birthday twice because the first time Ava didn't understand why we weren't singing to her.  Her birthday is the same month, you know.

A Taste of Spring!!!

This Saturday had some amazing weather so I bundled up my munchkins and headed outside to our local playground.  Everyone else in our neighborhood had the same idea.  There was running, jumping and screaming...little girls love to scream.  They were both able to burn off some energy, which makes for a peaceful evening at home.  I cannot wait until the weather is consistently nicer outside, this round of cabin fever has got to be the worst.  These days if the temperature is anywhere near 50 degrees we are heading out.  Looking forward to our playstreet opening up this summer...you know you're in NYC when you have a "playstreet."
