Ava's Day at Pier 6 in Brooklyn

On Memorial Day we left Aiden with a sitter and took our oldest out for a special day with Mommy and Daddy.  Summer has officially arrived in New York City, I think it was the hottest day of the year.  Of course, we choose to go to a newly developed park in Brooklyn that has minimal shade - yay for us!  Let's just say we I got fried!!

Ava played for hours in their water park even though the water was freezing!  It was a sceen when we finally had to leave, I think our daughter is part fish to be honest.  We had gourmet grilled cheese (because that was the only thing that was open at the time) it was d-lish but not worth the 7.50 per sandwich...only in NYC will you pay a price like that for cheese and bread.

She climbed all over these rocks like she was a pro.  She seriously has no fear!

Waiting patiently.

For THIS!

Happy girl, happy Daddy.

Spring Flowers

This past weekend Ava planted some flowers with the other Berkeley kids in our garden.  They all dug their hands in the dirt and watered away.  Here she is next to her flowers that she calls "red."  So glad the weather is starting to warm up so we can enjoy outdoor activities once again.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

That's what little girls are made of.  I love when Ava hangs out with her girlfriends, I know how important it is in a girls life to have relationships with other girls.  It's a great thing when you click with another female and you just get each other, awesome and unfortunately rarer the older you get.  I want my daughter to have life long girlfriends - deep//meaningful//life-giving//fruitful relationships.  She loves hangin' with her g-friends from the nabe.  Gotta love little girls...have another, yes please.

Sunny Days Are Here Again

On this dreary week here in NYC I thought I would post some pictures of my chickens hangin' in the park last week.  I took the day off of work and spent the day with them.  We went to the park, hung out with friends and thoroughly enjoyed our time together.  New Yorker's really take advantage of good weather and get outside because so much of our time is spent indoors during the winter, with children that can get a bit cumbersome.  This week's forecast is rain, rain and more rain, I don't think we will see the sun for a good four days.  Here's to hoping the weekend has a good forecast.

If only you knew how long it took up to get out of the house, good grief!

Excited for the fresh air and sunshine.

Playing with her girlfriends.

Look at all those teeth!

So independent, climbing all by herself.

Yet another swing shot from Traver's Park.

Mommy's Day

I had a great Mother's Day with my two monkey's.  Couldn't ask for anything more.

Date Night in the City

One Friday night a month (sometimes two) we stay in the City for date night. There is always so much to do in the city and we find ourselves having a hard time deciding on what to do. One thing Joey and I can both agree upon is EATING and there is plenty of that in the Big Apple. This night we decided on a hip burger joint where you don't walk out dropping less then $40, yes for burgers!!! While the burgers are not Shake Shack quality the atmosphere is what makes this place a favorite.

The hubs and I love to people watch and what better place to ogle then Union Square. You're always guaranteed a street performance, people dressed in obscure costumes or a political protest - watching the crowds reaction is more entertaining then the act itself. You get all this for free and after dropping $40 on burgers it's a great end to a perfect evening with the one I love.
